Small town girl

Kangna is a perfect example of a small town girl who had big dreams in her eyes and a conviction to bring those dreams to life too! Born in a rural community called Bhambla in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, Kangna always had this I'm-going-to-be-somebody-in-life attitude up her sleeves. And through the dint of utmost hard work, passion and a positive approach, she managed to reach her ultimate destination. Today, she is a known and an admired face. Text: Anu Chanchal. Photo: BCCL

Troubled love life
When Kangna Ranaut came to Mumbai in a chase to make it big in the Hindi film industry, she apparently had only one man to rely on – Aditya Pancholi. According to the grapevine, the two soon started dating each other. But the bond ended some time later and so did the relationship. Then, she fell in love with Shekhar Suman's son Adhyayan and made her 'into a relationship' status public also. But again, Kangna had to part ways and move on without Adhyayan. Text: Anu Chanchal. Theatre actor first
Kangna was a theatre artiste before she moved into movies. She kick-started her career as a theatre actor in Delhi with the Asmita Theatre Group and an eminent theatre director Arvind Gaur trained her. She took part in his theatre workshop at India Habitat Centre (IHC) and acted in some plays also. In 2005, Hindi filmmaker Anurag Basu spotted her in a cafe in Mumbai and offered her the leading role in 'Gangster' and hence, she started her journey in Bollywood. Text: Anu Chanchal.
